A Fresh Start

A portion of Seattle's downtown, photo taken from Pike Place Market Dungeness crabs at Pike Place Market Gorgeous spring tulips for sale at Pike Place Market The Olympic Mountains, beginning to emerge from west of Puget Sound as the clouds clear for summertime!

May marks a fresh start for me in several ways. First of all, I am returning to running with a different attitude, as well as with a rested pair of legs who are ready to feel toned again! Perhaps even more life-altering, though, has been my move 3000 miles from where I have spent the last 18 years. After living in South Carolina since 1987 (I was only eight when my family moved there - yikes!), I am graduating from medical school in Charleston, and will be starting my neurology residency training at the University of Washington Medical Center/Harborview/VA Puget Sound facilities in Seattle, WA. My husband and I have already relocated here, and while I have heard mixed accounts of Seattle winters, I have to say that the springtime truly is delightful. The first week in May I will be running indoors on a treadmill to better gauge that I am not running more quickly than desired, but the second week I will be moving my routines to the streets on the city.

Welcome to my fresh start!

Friday, May 6 - Monday, May 9:

I have been sick with an upper respiratory infection. That, combined with my desire to return to running very slowly, have persuaded me to take a long weekend off. Will work out tomorrow.

Evan and I did walk around Snoqualmie, WA on Sunday, May 8th. Quite a beautiful area!
